Any item can go on your head in Minecraft if you use commands.

Most items will appear floating above the back of your head, and most blocks will appear over your head like a Carved Pumpkin.

Use this command to set your head slot: /replaceitem entity @p armor.head item but replace item with an item name.

These items and blocks display differently than the rest:

End Rod: Unicorn Horn
Lead: Monocle
Bone: (In Mouth)
Shield: Backwards and in front... (not intended)
Feather: Back of head
Raw Cod: Side of head
Fence Gate: Front of head, so eyes peek through
